Parent Engagement
Engaging Parents
Enfield is committed to involving parents in the design, delivery and evaluation of services. Our strategy is to involve local people in their local community through the development of Parent Engagement Panels. We also recognise that parents will listen to and value the opinions of their peers, through our 'Parent Champion' programme, volunteer parents are supported and trained to communicate and signpost other parents to services or information.
Parent Engagement Panels
Launched in 2011, Enfield currently have 4 Parent Engagement Panels;
- Kempe Hall
- Angel
- Enfield Town
- ARK
PEP will mean different things to different people, for some it will be a chance to attend a monthly meeting to share their ideas and views, others will want to participate in consultations, represent the PEP at Council meetings or attend events to promote the PEP and recruit other parents. The aim is to roll out PEP's across the borough so that Parents in all wards have a group that they can link into.
In the future we would like to develop a Parent Parliament.
If you would like to know more about the PEP you can download the PEP flyer or contact Sam Morris
Parent Champions
Parents who would like to gain further skills and knowledge can take part in Parent Chamion Training.
Parent Champions offer support to parents in their communities and volunteer in a range of organisations
PEP Steering Group
The development of the PEP is shaped and informed by a PEP Steering Group, which is made up of parents and professionals working in partnership.
The groups remit is to set the direction of the project going forward, ensuring that the reach of the PEP grows.
