Safer Neighbourhoods Estates Unit

The Safer Neighbourhood Estates Unit (SNEU) was established in June 2007 to patrol residential estates within the Borough.

The unit consists of 1 Sergeant, 1 Police Constable, and 9 Police Community Support Officers. They are highly mobile and patrol the estates in vehicles, on bikes, and on foot.

The main aim of the SNEU is to provide public reassurance on Estates that are experiencing high levels of anti-social behaviour. The unit provide coverage 7 days a week usually from 10am until midnight, although varied hours are used when needed.

Initial feedback has been outstanding, with the unit responsible for numerous arrests in relation to Drugs, Robbery and Assault. The SNEU also issue fixed penalty notices for littering and dog fouling.

The SNEU are tasked to Estates through a combination of Police intelligence, public complaints, and Council Officer information.

If you are aware of an Estate that is experiencing high levels of anti-social behaviour then please contact The Safer Neighbourhood Parks and Estates manager on 0208 379 3740 to discuss further.
