Emergencies – road traffic accidents

The Emergency Planning Team may respond to a road traffic collision to support the emergency services but only where to do so would help to reduce, control or mitigate the effects of such an incident and avoid the potential to endanger life and property or disruption to Enfield’s infrastructure, residential and/or business communities.

The Enfield Emergency Planning Team work to ensure that the Authority can effectively both respond to and mitigate the effects of such an incident within the Borough.

The work involves:

• Preparing Emergency Plans.
• Undertaking Risk Assessments.
• Information sharing and cooperation with partner organisations.
• Warning and informing the general public.
• Promoting Business Continuity.

The Emergency Planning Team work in partnership with organisations locally, in particular, the emergency services to provide a co-ordinated and supportive response to emergency incidents such as serious road traffic collisions.
