The Sports Development Team works in partnership with local regional and national partners to create equitable and sustainable opportunities for sports participation at every level. The vision of the Sports Development Team is, “To make Enfield one of the of the best places to play, stay and succeed in sport & physical.”
The Sports Development Team provide a programme of sporting / physical activities and events targeted at young people, adults and people over the age of fifty. These activities and events are as follows:
• Healthy Lifestyle Activities for Adults and People over Fifty ( Activities include yoga, tai chi, qui gong, walking and jogging sessions)
• Sporting Activities for young people (Examples of courses are: gymnastics, fencing, badminton, football, short tennis, trampolining, aerobics, circuits, dance, and many more)
• Events for young People (The London Youth Games, The London Mini-marathon and Inter-borough Swimming)
• Activities for People over fifty ( Tai Chi, Qi Gong, keep fit, walking, badminton, bowls)
• Activities for young People with a disability (multi-sport, trampolining, football, swimming)
• Community Development Programme. Basketball, football and multi-sport activities are provided free of cost for young people in targeted geographical areas of the borough
In addition, The Sports Development Team also provides:-
• A Sports advisory Service
• A Coach Education & Training Programme of nationally recognised, accredited sports specific and generic courses for people aged 14 years + that allow successful attendees to become qualified sports coaches and officials
• A small grant scheme to increase sports / physical activity participation within low participation groups, such as women and girls, black minority ethnic groups and people with a disability

Courses and events are available to all unless other wise stated.

None required unless applying to be a sports coach or swimming teacher
Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
Term-time Sports Courses take place from 6:00pm onwards. Holiday courses take place during the day in the school holidays at various venues across the borough. Activities for the over fifties take place predominantly during the day.
