Citizenship Ceremonies and Nationality Checking Service
Citizenship ceremonies are provided for local citizens who have had their application for British citizenship accepted.
All people successfully applying for British Citizenship must swear or affirm an oath to the Queen before they can obtain their naturalisation certificate.
Eligibility
The customer must have been accepted by the Home Office for British Nationality.
Required Customer Information
• Confirmation letter from the Home Office
• Poll cover note number
• Home Office reference number
• Customer’s address and phone number
• Photographic ID, such as passport or travel document.
Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
Customer must ideally book their appointment within 14 days from receipt of their notification from the Home Office. Although they can book an appointment after this time.
