Transport - abnormal loads - notification | |

A hauler who intends to move an abnormal load such as gross weight exceeding 44 tonnes or more must notify and gain consent from the police or local authority. Abnormal loads are defined in The Motor (Authorisation of Special Types) General Order 2003. Generally, they are vehicles where that exceed any of the following: A gross weight of more than 44 tonnes.

The haulier must indemnify the Council for each movement, normally by an annual block indemnity. Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
