Enfield Town

Enfield has had a market, as we know it since the times of James 1. The early 17th century charter was for a Saturday Market, the right to hold a market on a Monday dates back to the 14th Century.

The market now opens on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and recent years have seen the return of Monday opening.

The colourful market stalls stock a large variety of goods where you can buy plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables, clothing, meat, fabrics, knitting yarn jewellery, handbags and luggage to name but a few.

The market is run by the Old Enfield Charitable Trust who can be contacted on their office number of 020 8367 8941. For Market Day only enquiries call
020 8366 9986 or e-mail: enquiries@toect.org.uk
