The aim of this service is to ensure that work premises are safe for employees and visitors and that accidents are prevented wherever possible. Workplace Health Connect.Last year in Great Britain, 28 million working days were lost through work-related ill health, these conditions included stress, asthma and back pain, most people think that you should put up with theses conditions even though there are some quite simple, low cost steps which will make everyone healthier- and make business more profitable as well. Workplace Health Connect is a free no obligation service that has been set up in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive. This is a confidential service designed to give free, practical advice on workplace health, safety and return to work issues, to smaller businesses (with 5 to 250 workers) in England and Wales. There is an advice line (0845-609-6006) and a supporting website http://www.hse.gov.uk/workplacehealth which gives practical advice to callers - both manager and workers - on workplace health, safety and return to work issues. This service aims to transfer knowledge and skills direct to managers and workers, enabling them to tackle and solve any future workplace health issues themselves. An advisor from Workplace Health Connect will carry out a workplace visit to discuss work related issues. Reports from Workplace Health Connect have shown that at the end of April 46% of eligible employers called the Advice line and have accepted the offer of a workplace health visit by an advisor. The satisfaction rate indicated that 93% of callers were satisfied in the way their enquiry was dealt with.
