Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation

Certain, higher risk houses in multiple occupation need to be licensed by the Council under a compulsory national scheme. Currently the property must be at least 3 storeys in height, have at least five people living there (in not less than 2 households).

Compulsory Licensing started on 6th April 2006. Owners of properties that need a license are required to contact the Council and apply for such a license.

Eligibility
Property address must be within the London Borough of Enfield boundaries.

Required Customer Information
Name and address of owner and property to be licensed.

Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
Decision to be made within 6 weeks.
