Pollution control - inspection and regulation of premises - Part B processes

Inspection and regulation of premises where Part B processes which have the potential to cause air pollution are undertaken. These include activities such as vehicle re-spraying, furniture manufacture and unloading of petrol.

The Council also regulate emissions to air from a variety of prescribed industrial processes through the issuing of permits, which contain conditions of operation in relation to emissions to air. The processes are inspected on a regular basis to ensure that the operators are meeting the conditions of their permit. Any breaches of conditions, or complaints from the public regarding any of our permitted processes are investigated as quickly as possible and the appropriate action is taken. If anyone has a complaint to make regarding an industrial process they should contact Environmental Health to discuss the matter.

If anyone wishes to apply for a permit for an industrial process they should contact the Council on the telephone number provided.
