Children and young people - advice

The service aims to provide integrated advice, guidance and access to personal development opportunities for this group and to help them make a smooth transition to adulthood and working life.

Connexions provides an individually tailored service offering advice, guidance and access to personal development opportunities to all young people aged 13-19, or up to 25 for someone with a learning difficulty or disability. All young people will have access to a Connexions personal adviser. The level of support will vary considerably, with some young people only needing to know how to access information on learning and career options, whereas others may need intensive one to one support over a long period of time, to help remove any barriers they have to learning.

Some personal advisers work with young people in schools and colleges, or with training providers. Others are based with organisations such as the youth service, specialist young people centres and also from Connexions Centres.
