Trading Standards Service

To maintain affair and truthful trading environment in the Borough of Enfield and to protect consumers from being misled during contractual negotiations for goods and services. This definition covers a wide area of consumer protection and trading law including it’s application to second hand and used goods.

To provide advice and guidance to consumers and businesses on matters concerning fair, truthful and honest trading. This includes:_
Advice to consumers on the law and how they can resolve problems and disputes themselves.
Advice and guidance to traders on compliance with legal requirements
The inspection of trading premises to ensure compliance
The investigation of offences and the prosecution of offenders where appropriate

The service can be accessed by telephone (during normal working hours as above), e-mail, letter or personal visit to the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield (generally by appointment during normal hours).

There is no charge for the service.

Eligibility

Consumers:
Resident in the LB Enfield OR resident outside the borough but have purchased goods from a trader within the borough.
Businesses:
Based within the borough with a home authority relationship OR principal place of business within the borough.
Otherwise contact your local Trading Standards office.
