Licences - acupuncturist

The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 requires that all persons that carry out acupuncture be registered with the local authority. Officers will visit the premises to ensure they comply with the requirements of both the Act and any local Bylaws.

Enfield Council is responsible for enforcing Special Treatment Licensing legislation, namely The London Local Authorities Act 1991 (amended 2000) in over 120 premises in the Borough. Premises range from beauty parlours, leisure centres and hairdressers to hotels and swimming pools.

Acupuncture
Concerning the above treatment, a Health Practitioner will establish if they need a Special Treatment Licence from this Authority. The licence seeks to ensure that the treatment is offered in safe and controlled manner. It seeks to protect public health and control of activities on the premises.
