Licence - occasional sales i.e car boot sales
The Licensing Unit receive and administer Occasional Sales Licence applications, under the London local Authorities Act 1996, for commercial sales such as Car Boot Sales. The service receives and administers Occasional Sales applications and fees in addition to a range of other licences, permits and registrations. The Licensing Team operates during normal office hours and are available to take telephone calls, respond to e-mails and see applicants in reception from 09.00 to 17.00hrs to offer help and advice. The Licensing Team consults other internal departments and outside agencies on applications including Environmental Health, Planning and Transportation, Metropolitan Police and Fire Brigade. Officers regularly inspect stalls/pitches to ensure compliance with licence conditions. Complaints about the stalls/pitches or items being sold can be made by eForm, telephone, e-mail, post or in person at the Civic Offices. All complaints are dealt with in accordance with the Councils Complaint Procedure that is available to view on the website at www.enfield.gov.uk. Application forms, notes for guidance and details of the fee payable are available on the Councils website under 'L' for Licensing, requested by telephone or e-mail or collected in person. Eligibility The person who receives or is entitled to receive payment for any space or pitch hired or let on the site shall be the applicant and person in whose name the licence is issued. Required Customer Information Applicants must advise the location, date and time of the intended occasional sale and the number of stalls/pitches and persons involved. They must also give the name and telephone/fax numbers of the person appointed to receive and answer complaints Service Level Agreement and Turnaround Applications must be made at least 42 days prior to an event. Licences are determined within 21 days where no objections are received or if objections are received and the application is heard by the Licensing Sub-Committee.
