Unitary Development Plan

The current Unitary Development Plan (UDP) contains Enfield’s planning policies relating to waste management. The Council is replacing the UDP with a new style of plan called a Local Development Framework (LDF). As part of its new LDF, the London Borough of Enfield is preparing a joint waste development plan document (JWDPD) known as the North London Waste Plan (NLWP), in partnership with the London Boroughs of Barnet, Waltham Forest, Haringey, Camden, Islington and Hackney. The plan is expected to be adopted in 2010, thereafter forming part of each of the seven borough's LDFs.

The NLWP will consider the amount of waste that needs to be managed by 2020 and will identify and safeguard sites for waste facilities across north London. A dedicated website for the Plan can be found at http://www.nlwp.net/. This gives further information and will be kept up to date with news and all relevant documents during the course of the Plan's preparation

A published version of the UDP is available to download online Unitary Development Plan (UDP) and the proposals map through Mapping On Line in Enfield.
