Open Access Holiday Play Days provide free of charge play opportunities for children between 5 and 14 years of age during Easter, Whitsun Half Term and Summer holiday periods, week days 10.30am-4.30pm. They are based in park settings and community buildings. They are run on a first-come-first-served basis and children are allowed to sign themselves in and out. ‘Reach Out & Play’ sessions cater for children between 5 and 13 years of age, and run during various school holidays and term time (summer months only). Sessions last for approximately 2 hours at a time and take place in parks around the borough, weather permitting. These sessions are free of charge, are funded by the Children’s Fund and reach out to children who might not be able to access other play opportunities. Our National Playday event is held annually on the first Wednesday in August. Themed activities such as arts & craft, sports & games, and dance and drama are organised in a park setting to celebrate National Playday, and are open to all children in Enfield aged 3 – 14 and their families.
