Benefits – New Claims

A claimant may be eligible to claim council tax benefit if they are on low income or in receipt of income support or job seekers allowance and are liable to pay council tax.

Council Tax Benefit is a means tested welfare benefit designed to help people on low incomes pay their council tax. Enfield’s Benefits service assesses and pays both Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit claims.

Required Customer Information
When sending or bringing in your completed claim form you must provide some orginal documents as proof of what you tell us.The list of proof you must provide is in the notes at the back of the benefit application form

Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
New claims should be assessed within 36 days of the application form being received.
