You should tell the Council Tax Office of any tenancy changes that may affect the liability for Council Tax.

To avoid being billed unnecessarily you need to give us the names of tenants, dates of any moves and, if possible, forwarding addresses for all vacating tenants.

If the property is furnished between tenancies a discount of 10% will apply. If the property is unfurnished you may qualify for an exemption for up to six months. You will need to supply documents that prove your entitlement to this exemption.
