Temporary Traffic Management Order, Road Closures, Request for Temporary Traffic Order (Roads & Footways), Notification of Works

Notification of road closures, diversions and possible traffic disruption as a result of road works that are underway or programmed to take place within the area.

The London Borough of Enfield is responsible for providing temporary Traffic Management Orders (TMO) to allowroads to be closed to restrict traffic movement in order to permit temporary road works to manage events on the public highway such as crane operations, street parties or building works etc.

Depending on the type of request a site meeting is usually required with the applicant and/or, a representative of the Council, and the Metropolitan Police and if required bus operators. The applicant is responsible for setting up the meeting.

The cost for providing the traffic management order is available here. The Council requires a minimum notice of between six and eight weeks before the event to carry out the required legal procedures.
If Pay & Display bays are to be de-commissioned, additional charges will be incurred and the Councils Parking section must be contacted on 020 8379 3560.

A 1:1250 drawing illustrating the nature of the restriction and a smaller scale plan showing the alternative route must be submitted.
If a closure is required, a diversion route may need to be signed to assist traffic to find a suitable way around the closure, and to minimise potential disruption on the highway network. The cost of erecting, maintaining and removing diversion route signing is the responsibility of the applicant.
In all cases the diversion must be agreed in advance with the Council, Police and bus operator(s).
