Recycling - Bags and Containers

Door to door recycling

Houses - If you live in a house with a front garden we will provide you with a black box for mixed recyclables (paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, food & drink cans and aerosols) and a green box for compostable waste (garden waste, uncooked fruit and vegetables).
The black and green boxes are emptied weekly from the boundary of your property; on the same day that your general refuse is collected. Please place boxes out by 7 am on your collection day.
(This service operates Monday to Friday generally between the hours of 7am and 4 pm).
Flats & Maisonettes – If you live in a block of flats or a maisonette we will provide you with large communal bins for recycling mixed recyclables (paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, food & drink cans and aerosols). Each property also receives a FREE reusable blue bag in which to carry your recyclables to the bin.
(The communal recycling bins for flats and maisonettes are emptied weekly).

Enfield Council collects a variety of material to be recycled. However there are also many items, which cannot currently be recycled. If non-recyclable materials are put into the recycling boxes/bins they cause lots of problems as the recyclable material is mechanically sorted before being made into new items. Therefore please only put YES PLEASE items into your black box/community recycling bin. See below the items that can and can’t be collected for recycling…………
