Skip Permits - Hirers

Builders’ skips require a permit if they are to be placed on the highway. This is a requirement of the Highways Act 1980. The London Borough of Enfield has the right to specify conditions relating to the position of skips on the Highway.

Skip Permits are issued to registered Skip Companies only.
Registering your skip company

You are advised to organise your skip hire with your chosen company who will contact Highway Services on your behalf. Applying for a permit.

Once acquired, the permit is valid (from the next day) for a period of 30 days and is non-transferable.

In order to minimise damage to the public highway, skips are not permitted to cross the footpath without prior consent from the Highway Inspectors in the Borough of Enfield. Contact Highway Services for a site inspection and consultation. A deposit will be taken against damage to the highway.
