Unitary Development PlanThe London Borough of Enfield Unitary Development Plan (UDP) provides a framework for development, development control and conservation within Enfield and sets out the Council’s policies and proposals for the development and other use of land. The UDP contains a Proposals Map showing sites and areas where specific policies and proposals apply.
Under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act, Enfield’s Unitary Development Plan (UDP) was required to undergo an assessment to ‘save’ its policies. Most of Enfield’s UDP policies were saved, but fifty-three UDP policies expired on 27th September 2007. CLICK HERE to view the schedule of policies which expired on 27th September. Please note: all other policies of Enfield’s adopted UDP 1994 will remain valid until they are replaced by Enfield’s Local Development Framework (LDF). CLICK HERE to view the full list of saved policies. For further details of Saved UDP policies, CLICK HERE. Local Development FrameworkThe Council is replacing its existing Unitary Development Plan (UDP) with a new style of plan called a Local Development Framework (LDF). Enfield's LDF will consist of a series of planning documents, one of which will contain sites allocations. The existing UDP Proposals Map will be updated as part of the new LDF. To follow the latest progress on the LDF, click on Local Development Framework (LDF). Eligibility
