A local authority carries out regular checks on local businesses and business premises to ensure that safe and healthy working conditions are provided for all employees and visitors. Under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, authorised officers from this Service will enforce health and safety in commercial premises. Officers have a power of entry to all premises under Section 20 Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 where we are the enforcing authority. Generally the Health and Safety Team are responsible for the following sectors: -

The purpose of an inspection is to: -
Once an inspection has been carried out the authorised Officer will then inform you of any contravention that the company has made and will offer advice / guidance or recommendations into complying with the relevant legislation. Correspondence will be sent to the premises once an inspection has been completed. Eligibility
