Licence - street trading

The Licensing Unit receive and administer Street Trading Licence applications, under Part III - Section 25 of the London Local Authorities Act 1990, for the selling of goods or the placement of tables and chairs on designated street trading sites.

The service receives and administers Street Trading Licence applications and fees in addition to a range of other licences, permits and registrations.

The Licensing Team operates during normal office hours and are available to take telephone calls, respond to e-mails and see applicants in Environment Direct, B Block reception, from 09.00 to 17.00hrs to offer help and advice.

The Licensing Team consult other internal departments and outside agencies on applications including Environmental Health, Planning, Metropolitan Police and Fire Brigade.

Officers regularly inspect licensed sites to ensure compliance with conditions attached to licences issued.

Complaints about licensed or unlicensed stalls or placement of tables and chairs can be made by eForm,
telephone, e-mail, post or in person at the Civic Offices. All complaints are dealt with in accordance with the Councils Complaint Procedure.

Eligibility
The occupier of the premises placing table and chairs on a designated street outside their premises or the stall holder in a designated street shall be the person whose name is on the licence

Required Customer Information
Applicants must state the articles they propose to sell.

Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
Registrations are determined within 1 month where no objections are received or 2 months where objections are received and application is heard by the Licensing Sub-Committee
