Licensing - Amusement with Prizes | |
|
The Licensing Team receives and administers applications, under the Gaming Act 1968, for premises wishing to provide gaming machines (commonly known as slot machines or fruit machines). Gaming machines may only be lawfully located in: amusement arcades or licensed pubs and bars. Gaming machines cannot be located in take-aways, betting shops or other venues. Persons wishing to provide gaming machines on their premises must apply for, and be granted, a permit. There is a prescribed application form to be completed, and the application fee is £32. Permits are granted for three years, when application for renewal must be made if the permit holder wishes to continue providing gaming machines. Application forms, notes for guidance and details of the fee payable are available on the Councils website, requested by telephone or e-mail or collected in person. Complaints about premises can be made by eForm, telephone, e-mail, post or in person at the Civic Offices. All complaints are dealt with in accordance with the Councils Complaint Procedure.
