What is the Taster Training Course?

The Enfield’s Childcare Recruitment Project Co-ordinator provides an Introduction To Childcare Taster Training Course for those interested in a career in childcare.

The courses are run throughout the year and have been designed to provide the basic knowledge needed to pursue the formal qualifications required to work with children in a setting environment. The aim is to provide a realistic view of what is involved in working with children in a variety of early years settings.

The course is run over a seven-week period and for duration of two hours per week. This course is offered FREE of charge for Enfield residents.

Course content may vary from time to time but tends to focus on the following key areas:

• The Enfield Picture & Every Child Matters
• The National Standards
• Early Years Foundation Stage
• Working With Children With Additional Needs
• The Reality Of Working In A Setting
• Useful Skills To Help You Gain Employment In Childcare
• Positive Team Working Skills
• Information On Academic Courses Available Within The Borough In Childcare
