Marriage – Registering a Building of Worship of Approved premise for Civil Ceremony

The Local Authority may approve and grant a licence to the minister, proprietor or trustee of a place of worship or venue to become a place where marriages can take place.

The Register Office will carry out an inspection of the proposed premise to ascertain its suitability for Civil Ceremonies. The Licensing Team will then process the application once approval has been given.
