Social services - community support groups and organisations - information

Public Information

The social services department provides a list of recognised groups and organisations that provide advice and support for those who may be in need of community care such as the elderly, disabled or those with learning difficulties.

The Public Information Officer for Adult Social Services is responsible for producing information for the public about the services and support provided by Adult Social Services or commissioned out to local community/voluntary sector groups. A comprehensive range of leaflets, newsletters, posters, adverts in the local press and web content is designed, produced and disseminated by the Public Information Officer to Enfield Council offices, GPs surgeries, direct to the public and other health and community groups.

We have produced a range of leaflets on all the services offered by Adult Social Services, which offer advice and support. Additionally we have produced two documents for the public, which contain a wide range of topics, from leisure activities and money matters to health and support for carers. These are called The Older Person's Essential Guide and
The Essential Guide for Disabled People. We hope they provide answers to most problems, but where they can't they signpost people in the right direction to find them.

Information about groups and services can be requested through the Customer Service Centre 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Information is also available through First Stop Information, age concern, and also adult social services.
