Babysitting Guidance

Babysitting Guidance

As babysitters are not “registered” and there are no regulations to govern this type of childcare, Informed Families does not hold lists of sitters. However, we do hold lists of registered childminders and some childminders may be willing to do some evening or weekend babysitting. Parents may also wish to find a sitter by asking a friend or a relative with children for a recommendation or by looking in the Yellow Pages or searching the web for babysitting agencies.

Informed Families do not hold list of babysitters but they would be able to send parents a list of registered childminders who may be willing to baby sit or care for their child.

Informed Families – Enfield neither recommends nor endorses any organisation. It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure they choose a suitable babysitter.

Eligibility
None.

Required Customer Information
Should parents and carers use a babysitting agency, it is important that you are clear as to how they vet their sitters, for example, are they registered with the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) and do they interview candidates and take up references? Being registered with the CRB means that agencies can ask prospective babysitters to apply for a “disclosure” to help them further assess their suitability to look after children.

Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
Informed Families will post out information to parent/carers within 2 working days.
