Supporting People Programme

Supporting People is a Government programme that aims to help people to access housing related support services so that they can live independent lives.

The Department of Communities and Local Government provides Enfield Council with money to fund housing related support services that help people to live independently.

Housing related support services help vulnerable people stay at home, and help them to keep their tenancy or move on to a more permanent tenancy. The support is provided by a support worker, warden or estate manager, who may help with:

• Help, support, and advice to maintain your tenancy and live independently at home
• Community alarms
• Assistance with welfare benefits, such as Housing Benefit
• Help to access health services
• Help to access education and employment services
• Life skills training, such as managing your money, learning social and domestic skills
• General advice and information.

More information regarding who can access housing related support services is available in our Eligibility Criteria.

More information about what a Housing Related Support Service can provide is available in our Booklet about receiving housing related support services.
