Respite Care
Respite care enables carers to take a break from their caring tasks. Respite care can be taken in various forms:
• A temporary placement in a residential home for the person you care for.
• A carer who comes into your own home to take over your caring tasks whilst you take a break, for a few days, or overnight.
• A day care centre placement for the person you care for.
Eligibility
Because we have to make sure that we provide services fairly and to those most in need, we use eligibility criteria to help us make decisions about who we can provide services to.
If you Needs Assessment shows that you are eligible for Council Social Care service, we will carry out a Financial Assessment to determine how much you may need to pay for our service. You will also be offered Direct Payments so you can arrange services yourself instead of the Council arranging them for you
