Voluntary and community groups for Carers in Enfield
Alzheimer’s Society, Enfield Branch
The local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society runs two Carers support groups, phone help lines and a phone befriending service. They also hold information drop-ins where you can call in without appointment for advice and information, or just for a chat. A community psychiatric nurse is available to all carers for a one-to-one consultation, as is a benefits advisor twice a month.

Carers UK
Carers UK campaigns to raise awareness of the needs of carers, provides information and advice and helps them become more aware of their own role and status in the community. They also run Carers Line, a freephone helpline offering information and support to carers.

The Enfield branch of Carers UK supports, informs and represents carers in the borough of Enfield. A monthly meeting is held in Edmonton to enable members to meet other carers. They also hold a monthly drop-in where taster sessions of complimentary therapies are offered.

‘Time out’ is a home-based respite project that gives carers of older people and people over 55 with a disability a break from their caring responsibilities.
