As a registered childminder you will be a self employed person and as such need to register with her Majesties Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and will therefore be liable for your own National Insurance and complete an annual self assessment form.

The National Childminding Association can also give advice and guidance to become a registered childminder.

Once you have become registered you may also wish to join the Enfield Childminding Network.

Enfield has four Childminding Networks, which have achieved the National Childminding Association (NCMA) “Children come first” Quality Assurance Award. This award demonstrates to parents that, through network membership, the childminder achieves and maintains high standards and works beyond the basic requirements. Network childminders are monitored by a Co-ordinator and have regular opportunities to meet with other childminders, attend training workshops and have a use of a toy library. For further information please contact the Network Manager on 020 8350 4822.
