Education - grants- school clothing grants/vouchers

The award of clothing grants or vouchers to assist with the cost of school clothing for families who are on benefits or on low income (provided for by the Education Act 1948).

The Council has recently reviewed its policy on the provision of school clothing grants.

With effect from 1st April 2007 assistance will no longer be provided by the Council towards the cost of school clothing. This means that no help can be given to pupils in connection with their attendance at school during the 2007/08 academic year, which starts in September 2007. Late applications for the 2006/2007 academic year must be received by the 31.03.2007
