Financial Assessment | |
Income and Assessment TeamIf your needs assessment shows us that you are eligible for Council Social Care services, your social worker will arrange for a Visiting Officer to come and work out how much you can afford to pay towards the cost of your care. We call this a Financial Assessment. The Visiting Officer will help you to complete a Financial Assessment Form, and will also help you to claim any benefits that you may be entitled to but are not already claiming. You can have a family member or friend with you to help explain things to. The Visiting Officer will normally be able to tell you by the end of the visit how much you will be required to pay for your service(s). If you need pay a contribution, the Visiting Officer will leave with you a contribution letter that gives you a breakdown of the charges you will have to pay. The amount you pay will be reviewed every April, but if there are any changes in your circumstances in the meantime, you will need to tell us. You can find full details about our charges, and how we work out what you have to pay, in our charging policy booklets: Community Care Charges for People Living at Home – Charging Policy 2008-2009.
