Social Care - Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy Services aim to help people of all ages with everyday activities, which may have become difficult to manage because of illness, disability or old age.

Occupational Therapy Services in Enfield are provided by our AT Home Service (Assistive Technology at home.) Occupational Therapy aims to help people of all ages with everyday activities, which may have become difficult because of illness, accident, getting older or disability.

We work with people who have significant and permanent disabilities that cause difficulties in carrying out the essential activities of daily living, which may include;
• Getting in and out of bed.
• Getting on and off the toilet.
• Getting washed and dressed.
• Getting on and off chairs.
• Getting up and down the stairs at home.
• Getting into and around your home.
• Using the kitchen and doing domestic tasks like cooking.
• Managing tasks like opening doors and windows.

Eligibility
Permanent residents of all ages who have a physical disability and those who are deaf or hard of hearing or visually impaired.

Some equipment and adaptations, including specialist equipment and larger adaptations, can only be provided following a needs assessment. An occupational therapist from Enfield’s Social Care service will visit you in your own home or see you at the AT Home Service to carry out an assessment.

Required Customer Information
General information about where you live, your disabilities and any medical conditions will be required at your first point of contact.

Date of birth, proof of address and identification documents are required prior to needs assessment.

Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
The AT Home Service aims to contact you within 2 days of receiving a referral and complete assessments within 28 days of referral. Following assessments the service aims to work with you to develop a support plan and action this within 28 days. If equipment is required the service aims to deliver equipment within 7 days.
