The Play Development Team provide a wide range of high quality, friendly, safe, fun and stimulating play opportunities and childcare services for children & young people aged 4 – 14 years of age living in Enfield, that meet all legal requirements and follow good practice standards as set down in conjunction with OfSTED and the London Borough of Enfield. These include:

Closed Access Holiday Playschemes provide childcare facilities for children between 4 (if in full time education) and 11 years of age and operate at varying schools and community venues during Easter, Summer and Half Terms, weekdays, usually between 9.00am – 5.00pm. Children are required to remain on the premises until signed out by a parent or carer. There is a daily charge for this service, and bookings are taken via the Sport & Play Administration Team on 020 8379 3769.

Open Access Holiday Play Days provide free of charge play opportunities for children between 5 and 14 years of age during Easter, Whitsun Half Term and Summer holiday periods, week days 10.30am-4.30pm. They are based in park settings and community buildings. They are run on a first-come-first-served basis and children are allowed to sign themselves in and out.

‘Reach Out & Play’ sessions cater for children between 5 and 13 years of age, and run during various school holidays and term time (summer months only). Sessions last for approximately 2 hours at a time and take place in parks around the borough, weather permitting. These sessions are free of charge, are funded by the Children’s Fund and reach out to children who might not be able to access other play opportunities.

Our National Playday event is held annually on the first Wednesday in August. Themed activities such as arts & craft, sports & games, and dance and drama are organised in a park setting to celebrate National Playday, and are open to all children in Enfield aged 3 – 14 and their families.
