Housing - Repairs - Communal Areas

The Council is obliged to repair and maintain Communal Areas in Council Housing, such as stairwells, landings and lifts. This includes:
• Lighting to shared areas both inside and outside a shared house or block of flats.
• Roof coverings to shared houses and blocks of flats.
• Shared drainage to blocks of flats and blocks of garages.
• Shared lifts.
• Shared rubbish chutes in blocks of flats.

Housing officers regularly inspect communal areas, and make arrangements for any necessary repairs.

Eligibility
Council tenants and leaseholders only.

None.

Service Level Agreement and Turnaround
The management of this service has been transferred to Enfield Homes as of April 2008. Enfield Homes is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO), owned and monitored by the Council, providing services for Enfield council tenants and leaseholders.
