Assessment of housing conditions in private sector housing

Private Sector Housing Standards is responsible for carrying out a sample survey of property condition in the private sector (owner occupied and private rented property) every 5 years. This information helps the Council develop policies and actions to deal with poor housing. The condition of people’s homes is also examined during the day-to-day work of the team dealing with the problems faced by private tenants in poor housing.

The Council commissions consultants to carry out a survey of the Private Sector approx. every 5 years. A summary of the information from the last survey (in 2002) may be found on the Enfield Observatory.
