Homelessness - advice and support

The service administers homelessness legislation and provides good quality, cost effective temporary accommodation to homeless households who are owed a housing duty.

The service will interview homeless or potentially homeless households with a view to keeping them in their existing property or providing another housing solution/option.

If homelessness cannot be prevented then an assessment will be carried out to ascertain whether the household is eligible for housing support by the authority, either temporarily or on a long-term basis. Suitable accommodation will be provided for those owed a full housing duty.

Clients will complete a preliminary investigation form before being filtered for a full homeless interview and application.
