Housing – council – tenants – advice and support

A local authority will provide existing tenants with advice and assistance on matters such as rents, transfers, mutual exchanges and general matters relating to tenancy. This may also include advocacy where necessary.

You can pay your rent in the following ways (you need your rent account reference details):

Direct debit or standing order:
• from your bank or building society account.
Housing Service direct debit form

Cash at:
• Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield
• Ordnance Road Library ‘handi till’, 645 Hertford Road, Enfield
• at any post office.

Cheque, debit or credit card at:
• Edmonton Housing Office, 36-44 South Mall, Edmonton Green
• debit or credit card - 24 hours a day, by calling 020 8379 1000
• debit or credit card - 24 hours a day, by visiting our online rent payment
• cheque - Ordnance Road Library ‘handi till’, 645 Hertford Road, Enfield
• at any post office.

If you have any difficulty paying your garage rent, you should contact an Income Officer immediately on 020 8379 2353 for advice and information. If you are on a low income, please ask for information on Housing Benefit. We will send you a rent statement every three months, or when you ask for one, to help you keep track of your account.

The Tenancy Agreement sets out the terms and conditions and clarifies the responsibilities of the Council and the tenant, via the internet.
