Farming - mixing registration for feeding stuffs | |
Recent European and UK law on feed hygiene now requires most feed businesses involved in the making, marketing and use of feeds to be registered or approved by their local authority. This includes livestock farms and arable farms growing crops for use as animal feed. Feed businesses need to comply with standards relating to their facilities, storage, personnel and record keeping in order to ensure that feeds that are placed on the market are safe. Farms which undertake mixing of feeds for their own use are required to be registered. The Council’s Food Safety team deals with all aspects of animal feedstuffs.Service Response TimesAchieve a standard of first response to service requests within 24 Hours on 90% of the time in 2005/06.
